FITFORLIFE exists to inspire, motivate and transform the lives of young people by unlocking their talent and potential through the use of music, media, and sport.
FITFORLIFE encourages the creative potential in young people and delivers a varied range of exciting and challenging programmes whilst providing a nurturing and positive learning environment.

FITFORLIFE has three main themes to its work with young people:-

COMMUNITY CHANGE
FITFORLIFE has developed a number of initiatives and programmes that inspire young people to make positive changes in their lives and encourage greater unity and cohesion within local communities.
Sports, Music and Media project provide a great mechanism to bring people from a wide variety of backgrounds together. FITFORLIFE has a proven track record of working in some of the most challenging neighbourhoods of the West Midlands and of seeing their work break down barriers between groups identified by ethnicity, postcodes, gangs, streets etc.
Our programmes aim to support young people wanting to make a positive change in their lives that enables them to make a difference to their local communities.
One of the main ways we do this is through the StreetBall / Open Mic project.

STREET BALL / OPEN MIC
Professional athletes or emerging stars of the future participate in these programmes whilst urban music further increases participation. Whilst improving social cohesion, motivation, teamwork and fitness levels, participants are given the opportunity to work on lyrics for a grime music session with an emphasis on positive, conscious and clean messages.
All our events involving music and sport are filmed with opportunities to learn new skills in producing professionally edited videos alongside recorded music tracks and lyrics. Each participant receives the final product on DVD and works towards receiving an accredited music production award.
StreetBall and Open Mic sessions can be delivered in school and community settings

CREATIVE LEARNING
FITFORLIFE provides programmes that support young people who find formal way of learning difficult to engage with.
Creative Learning programmes for young people aged 8 to 18 provide innovative ways of learning using sports, music, video and other forms of media. A wide range of subject areas are offered across the national curriculum supporting subjects such as Science and Literacy. We also have packages that support personal and social development issues such as bullying, self-esteem and identity.
Using creative arts through music, beats and rhythm and ICT skills using film and computer programmes, FitForLife has a a proven track record of engaging pupils who are underachieving and lack aspiration
Creative Learning packages can also be delivered to Young Offenders and to Pupil Referral Units.

TALENT ACADEMY

We also support young entrepreneurs to develop their talents providing a framework that allows them to look at developing their own enterprises using their creative skills.
